We started building on Monday morning... what a beautiful site and incredible surrondings. We started the day with a devo and the local workers sang for us... wonderful. We all stood on the pad of what will be the new house giving praise to the Lord. We were divided into groups of 2 or 3 and a local worker showed us what to do... then went back over our work and checked it again. And little by little the walls started going up. By the end of the first day we had 7 courses of bricks on which was the most we could do so that the mortar would have time to dry before we went higher. We have an hour long drive each way and work from 8:00 am to 4:00 or 4:15 each day. Needless to say we are tired and 8:30 to bed looks pretty good to some of us! The workers are patient nice men. Some speak enough English to let us know what they need us to do. There is so much here to tell you but my time is going to run out.
We are still getting along well and starting to get into the groove of change of food, water, temperature and altitude. Oh btw, it is 6 hours difference. Uganda is on the equator so there is no DST even though there are 7 time zones between you and us.
Love to you all from all of us...
