Long Creek To Watoto May 5 - 21, 2010

Like many proud Dads I have photos of my family tacked to the walls of my cubicle at work; my lovely wife, my two beautiful girls, and a slightly outdated picture of my son. He doesn't live at home anymore, and is seldom keen to pose for family photos when he visits.

The rest of my small work space is dotted with photos of Ugandan children taken in my home and in Africa. Like my own children; they are beautiful. When things get crazy at work, or I get too full of my self, these photos remind me of what's really important.

My wife and I were part of a group that travelled to Uganda in May 2008 to build a home for eight orphaned children.

We initially got involved to raise money; but as time went on it became clear that we should go. It's a trip that has reshaped the way I look at life, and has burned in my heart a desire to go, to give, and to love.

I'm excited today to share with you that we are going back to Uganda in 2010. It's official; May 5 - 21, 2010. We'll be building another home, this one in Gulu, northern Uganda.

As this new adventure unfolds, I invite you to join us; by supporting us financially, helping us raise the thousands of dollars needed for building materials, or by joining us in Africa. As I mentioned, that's how we got started, by helping to raise money, but once we got our foot in the door, God threw it wide open, and things have never been the same.

35For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat, I was thirsty and you
gave me something to drink, I was a
stranger and you invited me in,
36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I
was sick and you looked after me, I was
in prison and you came to visit me.'

Matthew 25: 35-36
