I often tell people that I will be disappointed if there is no food in heaven. I love to eat. And it's not just delicious food I love, it is the whole idea of getting together with people, sharing a meal, as well as a little bit about our day and ourselves. And I'm not too worried about the heaven part since Jesus describes the kingdom as a wedding banquet.
That's what made our first International Dinner, an Israeli meal, such a wonderful event. The food was beyond tasty, a tantalizing array of middle eastern dishes. The service rivaled a five star restaurant, and the the twenty guests lucky enough to purchase tickets were treated to a lovely evening of fine cuisine, pleasant conversation, and charming hosts.
I used to be journalist, but I never wrote a restaurant review. It probably would have been a good vocation for me since I love to eat.
This is less a review and more of a sales pitch to encourage you to go to the next meal; a Kenyan dinner in September. Again, only twenty tickets will be sold, and a couple of tickets have already been spoken for.
I took a friend to the Israeli dinner, and he was so impressed with the evening, he plans to attend every meal. So do I if there are any tickets left.
